I woke up early…And walked out to our little balcony to enjoy some sunshine and my book since it was too early to get up to go diving. I walked out the door and was stunned… the view was amazing. It really felt like I got a small present and I was very grateful. Gen woke up and sat down with me. At 7 I jumped on my motorbike to go to the diveresort.

On the way I saw so many schoolkids in their uniform walking to the schools…. Filipino kids are both adorable and gorgeous. When I arrived at the resort it didn’t matter that I was early.. because we wouldn’t go in the water any earlier. I got my gear, signed the papers and got onto the boat. It was going to be a drift dive and we jumped in… just me and the other DM.

The dive was amazing! We floated over this garden of corals… and they told me we might see some sea turtles…. Well, we saw about 10! The current was really strong, so I just hung in the water and watched the reef float by. It was the best dive I’ve had when it comes to reef, corals, diversity of fish and… of course the turtles.I came up so excited about all the things I had seen. Back to shore I walked up and jumped back on the motorbike to go to the resort… my clothes still dripping with seawater.

Gen had ordered me breakfast (it takes about 45 minutes to make) and I got changed and packed up my stuff. We had breakfast at our private restaurant and enjoyed having good wifi. But it was time to move on and so we left the little cottage without a decent shower on the beach to go back to the place we considered home a bit.

Gen had to get used to being on the back of the bike again and held me tight… We had a short break and just before the supping we went to a bakery for some goods.  We drove up the road for the supping and saw another place where we could do this… being the half dutchies that we are we wanted to check the price… It turned out to be the same. But… The road to the resort was good, deserted actually and we don’t know if we’re getting another change to rent a motorbike…. So. Time for Gen to take her first driving lesson. It was just 50 meters back and forth…but she did it and as so many times this holiday, she challenged herself and succeeded!

We (I drove) continued to the supping place we originally booked where they told us that Gen couldn’t go on the board with the guide… Because of her arthritis it’s kinda difficult for her to do the paddling.. which is basically the only thing you need to e able to do (Except for keeping your balance) We decided to try it, otherwise the guide would have her picked up. It was only for an hour. Gen turned white as a sheet for a second… but regained control and  got on the board.

We stood and paddled.. and after a rest Gen decided that sitting was a better option. I did some yoga on my board and managed not to fall in the water.. which I really appreciated. We also appreciated the view of our hot guide, obviously way too young but we appreciated his biceps… girls will be girls. Oh, and we got a marriage proposal from some random guy on shore, talking about romance…

When we safely returned to the SUP place we talked with the owner, who’s a Belgian guy (Vlaams) and started the place a couple of years ago while running a kitesurfschool in Belgium as well. I still dream of starting up something abroad, a diveschool or something alike. Gen can do the resort part, as she has the paperwork for that… but… in the end I think I would miss my life too much. On the other hand if I had 5 years to live that’s what I would love to do. Luckily I don’t have to choose….

After admiring the beautiful shower (which we didn’t use) we just put on a top / pair of pants and jump back on the motorbike. The last leg is about 1 hour driving but the moment we get back on the bike our butts hurt again… We only make it through the last miles by singing at the top of our voices, being exhilarated. It was awesome. Just before nightfall we make it back to our little garden in.

The lady is so welcoming and asks us how our trip was. The room we had was booked but she gave us a bigger room…. We now have a kitchen (with a fridge!), living bedroom and bathroom… so basically we have an apartment. She also brings us our luggage and clean laundry. I’m so so excited.

We peel of our clothes , which are still wet from the supping and I head for the shower. My hair is still salty from the dive this morning, everything is sticky and since we couldn’t have a decent shower last night I can’t wait. Really… this shower made me feel like I’m in heaven. My hair smells good, my skin’s not sticky anymore and the soals of my feet and my nails have their natural color back. I put on a dress and some perfume and finally feel like a lady again.

After Gen enjoys the same shower we head out (on the motorbike) for a final trip to Alona  beach where we enjoy a way overpriced burger and fries completed with a good live singer on a guitar and a cocktail (rum&coke and Gin&tonic… you can guess who’s the hipster there!). We get talking to some Australian guys and before we know it we get compliments thrown at us… It might have been because they were plastered, but it was so funny.

One of them kept saying he had a girlfriend (and I’m telling you… we we’re being polite) I told him 10 times I have a boyfriend but he kept talking about that he didn’t wanted to cheat. His friend Adam was a little less drunk and we enjoyed the lighthearted conversation. At 8 pm we were back in our hotel… where the Wifi sucks but the people are friendly.  So I’m afraid the blog will not be posted today.

pictures will follow, I did manage to load 2 video’s though 🙂
